Stourbridge Labour Supports We Shall Overcome 2017

This October, Katie Fitzgerald’s and The Mitre will play host to top musical talent from across the Black Country and beyond – and it’s all in aid of charity!

Organised by Frankie Prazer, We Shall Overcome Dudley has assembled an incredible range of 28 artists over 3 days, from the revolutionary folk stylings of Stourbridge’s very own Jess Silk to Redditch rockers Act of the Risen. The cause? Raising money for local grassroots charity Leslie’s Care Packages for the Homelessness!

Founded by local resident Vi Wood in 2016, the charity delivers care packages of food, clothing and toiletries directly to homeless residents around the Black Country area.

Vi not only focuses on rough sleepers, but also the “hidden homeless” living in temporary or overcrowded accommodation. Her growing network of volunteers and donors – organised through her Facebook page – have helped people moving into new accommodation with furniture donations and their own time.

Stourbridge Labour are proud to support We Shall Overcome and will be providing volunteers to help run the event.

We Shall Overcome will be at Katie Fitzgerald’s on 6th – 7th October and at The Mitre on 8th October. Click the links for the full event details and line-up!
